I was cleaning old files from my computer and found this, so I thought I'd post it... mostly for sentimental reasons.
That night, the sky literally stopped me in my tracks. When I saw this, I just had to halt and stare at it. And stare at it. And stare at it. And, eventually, paint it.
The painting can't compare to the feeling of being there. It was like some unfathomably giant mountain had loomed up before me and the moon had just peeked up over it, into a dappled, rainbowed sky.
